A great start to a new weekly opportunity
Last week, a group of our students spent the day at Bowlees Education Farm as part of a trial visit — and it couldn’t have gone better.
The day began with a walk around the farm in the fresh air, joined by the dogs, which set a relaxed and positive tone. Students then had the opportunity to meet and interact with a wide variety of animals, from sheep to horses and everything in between. Being up close with the animals was a new experience for many, and it sparked plenty of interest and curiosity.
Throughout the day, students got involved with the everyday jobs that keep the farm running, learning practical skills and working as a team. These hands-on tasks gave them a real sense of purpose and responsibility, and they took to it brilliantly.
At lunchtime, everyone sat down together for a well-earned break, chatting and enjoying some time to take it all in. The surroundings offered a calm, supportive environment that helped students feel comfortable and engaged.
We’re pleased to say that following the success of the visit, this will now become a regular part of our offer. From September, students will be attending Bowlees Farm every Friday as part of their learning experience.
A huge thank you to Jemma and the whole team at Bowlees for their support and for creating such a welcoming atmosphere. We’re looking forward to coming back soon.
