Our annual placements offer the best value for money and also provide the flexibility for schools to refer multiple students across the course of an academic year. For local authorities they also provide the opportunity to guarantee placements by block booking certain numbers.
Annual placements allow for multiple students to access our specialist provision across an academic year. For example:
– Student A could attend for 6 weeks Monday-Wednesday; student B could attend for 6 weeks Thursday and Friday. After 6 weeks both students return full time to school and a further 2 students (C and D) begin their placements replacing the students A and B. If this was replicated across the year an annual placement could be used to support a total of 12 students.
– Student A is placed on a long term placement for the whole academic year at Education Plus. This student attends each week Monday to Wednesday. Student B attends Education Plus each week Thursday and Friday for a term before returning full time to school. They are then replaced by student C and D in the summer term, thus supporting a total of 4 students.
Both of the above are examples of how the annual placements can be used flexibly giving schools freedom over the numbers and need of students referred.
