Teacher
David has worked in mainstream secondary education for 14 years as both a Design and Technology and a Maths teacher. Within Education Plus he is responsible for planning and delivering both the KS3 Maths and Technology curriculum, as well as being the main tutor in the site’s Turnaround Provision.
In my professional career I have held many different roles from head of KS3 Technology to Departmental lead. I strongly believe that the way to have a positive impact on a pupil’s schooling and wellbeing is through positive interpersonal relationships and working with the pupil on a day-to-day basic as individuals, not just a predicted grade.
I feel the role of a teacher in alternative education is perfectly suited for me, as the emphasis is working with the pupil and family as a whole unit and not just as a subject teacher. This allows us to build strong relationships with the pupils, home, and any third parties that are involved with that pupil so that we can all make a positive impact in their lives going forward.
